Tip to compact Outlook PST file

We all know that Outlook emails are stored up in Outlook PST file, known as Personal Storage Folders files. Continuous use of Outlook tends to increase the size of PST file over the time.   1. From the Outlook main window, choose Data File Management from the File menu.

  2. The Account Settings dialog will open up on the Data Files tab. Highlight Personal Folders, which should be located on the local drive, then click on the Settings button.

  3. Now with the Personal Folders dialog box open, click on Compact Now.

  4. A message indicating compacting is taking place will pop up then disappear when done. Now you can close out of the remaining windows.
